Top 8 Family Friendly Places Mom Can Grab a Beverage in New Orleans

cheers-sunset

Fall is upon us here in our beloved New Orleans and surrounding areas. It’s the time when we can come out of hibernation from the heat and humidity of summer. (Well, I mean, who am I kidding … it’s still hot every now and then.) What better way to celebrate the season of boots and pumpkin spice lattes than by raising a glass to toast the first few hints of Fall breeze!

But where can moms do this with kids in tow you ask?

1.  Beach House (Mandeville)

Beach House is Old Mandeville’s own little slice of sandy heaven. Grab a “beachy” drink (alcoholic or non) along with some delicious food while the kids play in the sand. There’s even live music on weekend afternoons.

2.  Courtyard Brewing (New Orleans)

Rotating food trucks every day of the week along with the garage door open to let in the cool breeze? Yes, please. Courtyard Brewing celebrates their 2 year anniversary this month.

3.  Morning Call (New Orleans)

What could be more fun than bringing a kid to Morning Call? Not much. Aside from the fact that Mom can also get a coffee or hot chocolate (and an order of beignets all for herself!) I also always get a little excited when I remember that Morning Call takes credit cards now!

4.  Old Point Bar (New Orleans)

Outside tables across from the levee of the Mississippi River – what more can you ask for on a breezy early evening. Grab a drink at Old Point, hang out with friends while the kids play with bubbles and chalk (byo bubbles and chalk!) and then take a walk up the levee for one of the finest views of Downtown New Orleans.

5.  Old Rail Brewing Company (Mandeville)

Found on the Northshore, Old Rail has an awesome food menu. Plus, their Oktoberfest is now on tap.

6.  Second Line Brewing (New Orleans)

Food trucks, movie nights, and a beer garden – Second Line Brewing has it all.

7.  The Backyard (Lakeview)

Have you seen this backyard?! The only trouble you may have with Lakeview’s The Backyard is making your kids want to leave.

8.  Urban South (New Orleans)

Recommended for your New Orleans bucket list: Drop by one of New Orleans’s newest breweries Urban South and try the Delta Momma. Not only is the taproom at Urban South kid-friendly, it’s also dog-friendly – a complete family affair!

*As always, if you choose to drink adult beverages, be sure to drink responsibly.
