Earth Day Celebration

Earth Day at the New Orleans Botanical Garden in New Orleans City Park promises to be a great event! Celebrate the earth and learn how we can build a healthier relationship with our natural spaces. The event will have exhibitors, activities for children, live music, crafts, cooking demonstrations, and of course delicious food. The event will take place in the New Orleans Botanical Garden in New Orleans City Park.

Admission: Admission by donation

What To Expect

  • Guidance on leading a more environmentally responsible lifestyle.
  • Local businesses and non-profit organizations dedicated to environmental protection, improvement, and education.
  • Activities and crafts for kids and adults.
  • Live acoustic music by The Necessary Gentlemen.
  • Cooking demonstrations using local, healthy ingredients.
  • Free meditation classes.
  • Food, wine, and beer available for purchase.
  • Food Trucks will serve food in compostable dishes. The public may bring their own refreshments. They are encouraged to bring food and drinks in reusable and/or recyclable containers to reduce landfill waste.

Where to Find Us

In the New Orleans Botanical Garden in New Orleans City Park: enter the event through the front gate of the garden on Victory Avenue or at the back gate to the garden on Stadium Drive. Click here for a park map.

There is free parking available on Park streets and in the parking lot across from the entrance to the New Orleans Botanical Garden in New Orleans City Park. We encourage visitors to ride their bike. Victory and Dreyfous will be closed before and during the event.

The After Party

Visit Earth Day then walk across Victory Drive to listen to the Louisiana Philharmonic in Swing in the Oaks on the Goldring/Woldenberg Great Lawn. This is another free event and there is no bad seat to listen to the live music.
