Leading a Values-Based and Spiritually Strong Life with Catholic Schools

Creating Opportunities

For almost 300 years, Catholic education has been an important part of the fabric of New Orleans society and culture. No matter who you were or where you came from, doors of Catholic schools were opened to you creating new opportunities and brighter futures for generations.

Today we build on that great legacy as our New Orleans Catholic Schools remain communities of faith where students know their dignity and value and are formed to be the Catholic leaders of tomorrow.

Welcoming, Safe Schools

In our Catholic schools we see children from all walks of life and work to help each reach his or her God-given potential. We value the role of parents and families as primary educators of their children. We strive to make each of our schools a welcoming place, a safe place, a place where God is present and children know they are loved. With Jesus Christ as our model teacher, we share our faith, we share our knowledge and we share our hearts as children learn.

Why Choose Catholic Schools?

Some may wonder why we choose to educate based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our schools stand out as some of the most academically rigorous. Catholic schools have one of the highest graduation rates of any school system and have more students attend four-year college than any other type of school. Aside from the academics, Catholic school graduates are more likely to pray regularly and attend Church regularly. Graduates of a Catholic school have a higher chance of continuing their faith beyond their high school years. When parents choose Catholic schools they are choosing a school that teaches the importance of having a religious and spiritual foundation that help form a future adult who is strong in his/her beliefs and recognizes how his/her actions impact the world. They are choosing a school where the values align with those taught at home. Our academic achievements prepare students for life beyond the classroom; our schools teach the mind and fill the heart with God’s grace.

Our Catholic Identity is what sets our schools apart from the rest. Our concentration on educating the whole child, spiritually, academically, and morally is the ultimate advantage. Every school wants to provide a quality education, but our Catholic schools are doing just that and more. Our Catholic schools instill in students, at a young age, the importance of leading a values-based, spiritually strong life.

Success Starts Here

Our success can only be measured by the success of our students, and our graduates are ready for college, and more importantly, prepared for life beyond. We are committed to continuing to grow and enrich the opportunities at all of our New Orleans Catholic Schools.

Our history if bright but our future can be brighter as we work together to educate our students in mind, spirit and heart to care for one another and for all of God’s creation.

We have faith, faith in Catholic Schools. Now we ask you to have faith in Catholic schools too. Learn more HERE.

  1. My sister has been thinking of sending her two daughters to catholic school for their secondary education and I am glad that I found this article! I had no idea that catholic schools have extremely high graduation rates and have the most students attend a four-year college after high school. Also, I appreciate that you mention that the school provides a spiritual foundation that aligns with the values taught in the home because this is extremely important to my sister.
