It’s fall y’all!! Cheers to football, (hopefully) cooler temps and all things pumpkin!! Time to plan all your fun for October 2017!

We’ve pulled out a select number of events for your family to enjoy throughout the month. If you have suggestions or additions, please leave a comment!

October 4 :: Buffalo Wild Wings hosts with Cold Stone Creamery Kids Wednesday’s Free Sundae night. Kids will receive a scoop of Cold Stone ice cream when a BWW kids meal is purchased. (Not valid with any additional coupons) There will be a self service Cold Stone topping bar for kids to enjoy as well!

October 7 :: Each Fall Magazine Street kicks off the start of the New Orleans Arts season with music, wine, gallery openings, and shopping at Art for Art’s Sake.

October 7 :: Connect with other dads and kiddos while enjoying complementary donuts, coffee, and playtime at ZukaBaby‘s open playspace. Open to dads and babies newborn – toddler age. No pre-registration required.

October 7 :: Head to Stallings Playground for Movies in the Park featuring Moana!

October 8 :: Enjoy FREE pony rides courtesy of Pony Tales at Fat City Farmers Market!

October 13 :: It’s Movie Night at the Market in Westwego! Outdoor Movie – Large Screen, featuring Hocus Pocus. Free Admission, food & drink available. Please no outside food. Feel free to bring chairs and blankets.

October 14-15 :: Juju the GOOD voodoo and Mr. Wacky Mustachey are sailing the seas at the Madisonville Wooden Boat festival along the Tchefuncte River. Enjoy blocks and blocks of other local talented crafters and artists along with a there’s HUGE kids play area!

October 18 :: Join ZukaBaby and Nurse Nikki for an a non-biased, informative discussion on infant nutrition and to ask questions, express concerns, and receive professional support. Suggested donation of $5-10. RSVP: [email protected] or 504.407.2700.

October 19 :: Le Meridien New Orleans is hosting “LM Cinema,” an outdoor movie in our Palm Garden. Staying true to our French roots, we’re showing “Chocolat.” The film is complimentary with specialty popcorn and a chocolate and wine tasting. General admission seating is first come, first served. Reserved seating is available around our fire pits. RSVP and purchase reserved seating tickets here.

October 20 :: Ivanov’s Gymnastics Academy is hosting Halloween Friday Night Fun Night! Bring or wear your Halloween Costumes for our Costume Contest! 6:30-9:30PM -Parents-Night Out Members and Non-members are welcome. Gymnastics, Games & Music, Pizza, Fun, Tumble-Track & Gym Play time. Pre-registration is required.

October 21 :: Bring the family to Posh Paint Pub to work on a fun hand print project! Turn your hands into candy corn, ghosts, pumpkins, monsters, spiders and so much more! Register online and come anytime during open hours.

October 21 :: Monster Mash  is taking place at Bogue Falaya Park. This large festival style event offers families in the Northshore communities and Greater New Orleans areas a truly unique opportunity to enjoy a holiday event in the park. In addition to unique activities and entertainment for the kids, local area restaurants and vendors will be serving refreshments, snacks and treats for purchase. Don’t forget to wear your costumes!

October 21 :: Head downtown to the Krewe of Boo Parade. This spooktacular Halloween event is unlike any other parade in the world and parades through the “BOO CARRÉ”.

October 21 :: Join French Market as they host their annual Boo Carré Halloween and Harvest Festival featuring live music and craft booths where kids can interact with local artists to create items with a Halloween theme.

October 22 :: Halloween Cookie Decorating Party for boys and girls of all ages! Cost is $25 per child. This party at La Petite Tea Room will include face painting, cookie decorating, a costume contest, a tea party and more! Costumes are encouraged! Reservations only.

October 24 :: Thinking about Kindergarten options in New Orleans? The School Fair is a good place to start! For information, call (504)896-9591. This event will be held at the New Orleans JCC, 5342 St Charles Ave.

October 20, 21, 27, 28 :: Bring your little ghosts and goblins to Boo at the Zoo! This annual Audubon Zoo extravaganza is a safe, fun-filled Halloween event for children up to age 12, featuring trick-or-treat houses with candy, Ghost Train, a haunted house, games, entertainment and more.

October 29 :: Enjoy the bounty, and cooler temperatures, of fall in a family friendly environment along the banks of the Mississippi River at the inaugural Harvest Fest in Crescent Park on Sunday, October 29 from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Mandeville Wharf (2300 N. Peters St) featuring live music, an arts market, the New Orleans Moms Blog Kids Zone, food and drink for purchase and more!

Recurring Events and Specials

Uptown Needle & CraftWorks offers Children’s Sewing School on the 2nd Saturday of each month for ages 7-12. Pre-registration is required.

October 6, 20 :: Complimentary Outdoor Concerts at TerraBella Village. Family event, food & beverage available for purchase (No Ice Chests Please). Food & Beverage proceeds benefit YMCA, Children’s Museum & Kickin Parkinson’s. No registration or ticket required.
