Hey Mom, You do YOU!

Being a mom is flat out hard. There, I said it! It’s the hardest job on this planet, and at times I feel like I’m failing. I certainly know I’m not the only one who feels this way. So to all the moms out there, this one is for you!

To the mom in the carpool line who purposefully gets there first in hopes to get 20 minutes or so of alone time … and to maybe snooze off in a quiet car and cold AC. I applaud you, enjoy.

To the mom who is trying to not lose it on her kid in the Target check out line. Don’t worry, I’m not judging. I’ve been there. Sometimes kids just flat out suck; I don’t see it as a reflection of you. You keep on keeping it cool and if you lose it, I understand. Believe me.

To the mom crying on the couch because she yelled at her kids this afternoon like Ursula style from the Little Mermaid, it’s ok. We all have our good and bad days. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Being a mom is HARD, and you are doing a great job. More than likely your kid has forgotten by now anyway.

To the mom who is currently locking her bathroom door so she gets a few minutes of peace while she goes to the bathroom, I feel you. I’m pretty sure we have all done this. Why is it that kids need you so much during those 25 seconds you need to pee? Never feel bad about this … we all need to pee alone every once in awhile.

To the mom who is making school lunches and is packing yet another Lunchable and worrying what the teachers may think, don’t sweat it. Don’t be worried that your kid’s Lunchable will stand out in a sea of perfectly packed Bentobox lunch boxes. My kids are ecstatic when they get theirs, and I’m sure your kids are as well.

So Moms, let’s step back and take a big breath. For those moms who are struggling, I see you and it’s OK. You are NOT alone. You do YOU, Momma! We are doing our best every day, and if one day we fail or lose it, don’t worry! Be thankful to have tomorrow and start the day off right.
