One month down, 11 to go! How’s your year? Sticking to those resolutions? If you’re looking to plan some family fun, Mardi Gras festivities and maybe even a date night or two, you’re in the right place!

February 1-5 :: TORUK – The First Flight will be showing this week at the Smoothie King Center.

February 3 :: The 610 Stompers are throwing their annual Sweet 610 Debutante ball and want you there. Dress up as your favorite wrestler or make up one of your own.

February 3 :: Southern Rep Theatre and New Orleans Recreation Development Commission present: A PORTAL INTO THE INVISIBLE. Production created by the [Our Stories] Teen Ensemble *Family Friendly and FREE!*

February 4 :: The Halal Guys are celebrating the opening of their new location on Freret St. with a Grand Opening Party!!

February 4 :: Celebrate the African American cultural heritage of New Orleans at the Louisiana Children’s Museum’s African American Heritage Festival. Enjoy interactive musical performances, an African market and more!

February 4 :: St. Martin’s is hosting a Summer Camp Parent Preview Party. Meet camp staff, pick up a calendar and menu and learn more about summer camp fees and dates. Camp is open to ages 8 weeks to 14 years old. No pre-registration required for preview party.

February 5 :: VCB Photography is hosting one of a kind Valentine’s Day Mini Sessions! These sessions can be for boys or girls in their dapper Valentine’s Day getups!

February 11 :: You can shop for all things Carnival at the Mardi Gras Arts Market hosted by Bon Temps Boutique.

February 11 :: Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is having a Children’s Mardi Gras Celebration! Dress up in your favorite costume and enjoy Mardi Gras themed music, bingo, art activities, karaoke, face painting along with a children’s parade. Bring your own decorated bike, trike or wagon for the parade with our grand marshall, the Chick-fil-A Cow. Event is included with museum admission.

February 11 :: ZukaBaby is hosting a Cloth Diapering 101 class, where you’ll learn which cloth diapering style is best for your family, how much money you’ll save, how to care for your diapers, and much more.

February 13 :: Touro Infirmary is hosting a free Child Passenger Safety Class. This class will present the basic types of Child Restraint Systems for Infants and Children, and information on the proper fitting of Infant/Child seats in your vehicle.

February 17-19 :: It’s Family Gras time! Family Gras traditionally takes place on the neutral ground (median) of Veterans Memorial Boulevard across from Lakeside Shopping Center in Metairie, Louisiana. Enjoy concerts, Kid-friendly activities, an Art Market and more.

February 18 :: Ursuline Academy is hosting a play date at the Ursuline Early Childhood Learning Center! Girls five and under will have a blast at our cooking, art, music, math, science, and language arts stations.

February 20 :: Meet the Budweiser Clydesdales! The annual Horses, Hops and Cops fundraiser is a family-friendly event featuring live music, food and beverages, arts & crafts, face painting, and horses!

February 24-27 :: French Market Annual Mask Market in Dutch Alley, 10:00am to 6:00pm each day (located in the French Market District between Dumaine Street and St. Phillip Street). Maskmakers from New Orleans and around the country show and sell their artisan masks.

February 26 :: Catch Thoth at Reginelli’s! Every year, Reginelli’s Uptown transforms their parking lot into party central for their favorite parade of the year! Enjoy pizza by the slice, drinks and fun outside or dine in and watch the parade from the safety of indoors.

February 27 :: Join the Louisiana Children’s Museum Lundi Gras Celebration – kid style! Decorate your own king cake. Take pictures in their Mardi Gras inspired photo booth, and stamp your own handkerchief to take part in a second line parade!

February 27 :: New Orleans area YMCAs (including West St. Tammany, East Jefferson and Belle Chase) are hosting Mardi Gras Camps at the Y! Kids will be able to play indoors and outdoors and enjoy arts and crafts from February 27 through March 3, not including Mardi Gras itself. Please register in advance.

February 27 :: Live entertainment and great local food and crafts at the annual Lundi Gras Celebration in Rivertown where the King and Queen of Zulu and Argus meet and toast to a great Mardi Gras.
