Mommy’s Having a Baby!

Upon finding out I was pregnant with baby number three, I couldn’t help but be more excited than an early release of Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks. I was beaming from ear to ear! I couldn’t wait to tell my family and friends, but as much as I wanted to shout it from the rooftops, I wanted to make sure everything checked out before I went and spread the incredible news.

With my second child arriving over three months early, I was very cautious to get overly excited or get others excited just in case everything wasn’t progressing as it should. I’ve sadly had some losses and wanted to get past the first 12 weeks. Well, from there I kept on waiting until I got some bloodwork back and then wanted to wait until after my initial high risk appointment.

I was ready to come out of the pregnancy closet and at 18 weeks, I was finally shared my secret with the world! More than anything, I was beyond excited to share my news with my sons who are 8 and 4. While my oldest was excited … my youngest not so much.

My husband and I weren’t anticipating such a response from our 4 year old, but boy we are happy we had the camera going. This made for quite a memory we can’t wait to replay to our new baby in a couple of years! “Momma, I said, I don’t want a baby!” is what Liam said over and over again, and you can even hear us laughing in the video.

It’s been a week and Liam has somewhat warmed up to the idea. He wants to name the baby Yoda and he even picked out a baby blanket at Target. So slowly but surely! My 8 year old Noah is thrilled and can’t wait to be a big brother again for the second time.

This holiday season will be a bit brighter for our household as we hopefully welcome a full term baby just in time for Santa to come!

How did you tell your kids about your upcoming arrival? Were they happy? Excited? Please share your experience in the comments, we would love to hear them!
