Purple is the New Black: Let’s Paint New Orleans Purple on November 21!

Purple Fashion at Feet FirstALG Style is passionate about purple. Purple is the color worn by royals, purple in its various shades is flattering on all skin tones, we are fans of Purple Haze, LSU purple, Mardi Gras purple and Prince’s Purple Rain album. Purple, a complete coincidence yet thrilled to be in such grand company, is likewise the signature color of ALG Style and the New Orleans Moms Blog. This Thursday, November 21 is a very special day for this regal hue. November 23rd signifies National Adoption Day and although ALG Style typically focuses on fashion, trends and style we believe the most gorgeous accessory to have on your arm are your children. In honor of National Adoption Day, ALG Style went out and about to scour our amazing local boutiques for all things purple. Here are some of our favorite finds to sport and show your support on Thursday!

Feet First

Being a mom on the go it is necessary to be built for speed. Check out these fantastic flats by Nina we found at Feet First’s newest location. Corrie and I are attracted like a moth to a flame to all things sparkly!

You’re going to hear me roar! If you are in search of something cute and tiger stadium friendly pick up one of Tru Colors’ purple and gold items sold at Feet First. Also, a festive feathered headband is an effortless way to enhance your ensemble and show some team spirit.

Posh and purple chapeaus by Scala, stunning earrings, a maroon bag by Inzi, purple ties by Nola Couture, and these Purple Fashion at Hattie Sparks I New Orleans Moms Blogleopard flats with a purple cap by Ramon Tenza are great little items to snatch up at the Metairie Road Feet First. This location is located in between Royal Blend and the Green Fork in Friedrich’s Square; ideal for an active mother’s basic needs of caffeine, clean eating (wishful thinking) and obviously fashion!

Hattie Sparks

If NOMB and ALG had a dream closet it would be all the contents at Hattie Sparks. Hattie’s price points and well curated gifts make shopping most enjoyable! Spotted here are two easy breezy fall dresses, both of which can go from carpool to cocktail with just a quick switch of shoes and accessories.

To spice up any outfit, even if it just a tank and jeans, we suggest adding a statement accessory to pull your look together. Hattie has a great necklace in the perfect shades of purple and pink.  Its Pink and Purple-licious!

Loomed NOLAPurple Home Fashion at LoomedNOLA I New Orleans Moms Blog

On days where you desire to be cozy, wrap up in one of the luxurious hand woven scarves and wraps from Loomed NOLA located on Prytania Street in the Rink. Pillows, towels and hand-made soaps were all unearthed in rich hues of purple and violet. Owner Molly Pittman is a delight and extremely well-versed in linens, so you will find yourself visiting Loomed simply to visit with Molly and her precious pooch.

Candy Apple Statement Necklace I New Orleans Moms BlogCandy Apple

ALG’s latest obsession is Metairie Road’s newest addition to its already bustling shopping scene, Candy Apple. Owned by two fun and fabulous sisters, Candace and Cassie, this little shop has plush faux fur vests, leather dresses and on-trend accessories. Their prices are even more outstandingly good! Candy Apple caters to the stylish, yet on a budget, fashionista. We found a very en vogue statement necklace that adds “Bam!” to any basic black dress.
