Jordan Essentials: Review & Giveaway

I am going to start this post out by saying that I am pretty plain jane when it comes to products, pampering and personal grooming. I buy whatever is on the shelf at Target, take a shower at night and sleep with my hair wet so I don’t have to blow dry it.

This works for me because I am pretty low maintenance. I have normal skin, my hair is straight as a board, and I don’t know how to work an eyelash curler, so my low profile beauty routine matches up well with what I am working with.

That said, I still am a girl and like a little pampering! Mostly I have to pay people for this, whether it is a mani or pedi or the lovely people at Earthsavers who make me feel like a million dollars the several times a year that I drop in there. Like everyone who is reading this, I don’t have much time for pampering. Going to the bathroom or taking a shower uninterrupted is sometimes what I consider pampering. Sad, I know.

Jordan Essentials Products in Day at the Spa

Jordan Essentials Products in Day at the Spa

Recently, I had the opportunity to test out the Jordan Essentials line. Jordan Essentials is based out of Nixa, MO and is a woman-owned company. The owner is a mom of four kiddos. All of the products are made right here in the USA, and there is no animal testing or harsh chemicals. She actually started the company by making the products in her kitchen. Lucky for us, this line is sold by a local NOLA mom to five sweet kiddos, Emily Bernard, who started selling the product in 2005. She ordered Jordan Essentials to help both herself and her 2nd child with their eczema. She found that when her 7 year-old daughter soaked in the Dead Sea salts her skin was immediately soft and moisturized.

Obviously this is not a miracle product; the fact is that there are not any harsh chemicals included in Jordan Essentials products. The product lines are great for sensitive skin and only include safe ingredients that actually moisturize.

I was able to test out the shower gel, lotion bar, body butter, salt scrub and shampoo. The website was extremely easy to navigate, and the product line is extensive with choices ranging from body to face products. They also sell gifts and items for babies (scented or unscented, and you can personalize with a little one’s name).

I selected the “Day at the Spa” scent. Just the name sold me. It is a lavender scent and absolutely reminds me of spending the day at the spa. The first night the product arrived, I was so excited to use them. I used the shower gel, the salt scrub, the shampoo and the body butter. All were luxurious and a total treat. If you want the ultimate review, after I got out of the shower my hubby told me how great I smelled.

Jordan Essentials Lotion Bar

Jordan Essentials Lotion Bar

The company’s signature product is the Jordan Essential Lotion Bar. Each bar is hand poured and is available in 14 fragrances, plus Naturally Unscented. It has no water content at all, so bacteria will not grow on it and is the only known approved lotion for flight travel. They are made with beeswax and are enriched with essential oils that promote healthy skin and healing, as well as protection. They are solid bars, so no spills or mess! I thought these could be good in a desk at work or in a purse if you have dry skin. Because it is no mess, the opportunities are endless.

While I received free products to facilitate this review, all opinions are my own, and I wasn’t required to write a positive review. Emily offers catalog, online and sip and shops to order the products. She can be reached at [email protected]

And, Emily is offering one lucky NOMB reader the chance to win a $100 gift card to select the Jordan Essentials products of their choice!

With everything that’s going on these days it’s hard to remember to moisturize. Also my skin is so sensitive it gets expensive trying to find products that will work for me. Wish me luck.
